ORANGE COUNTY REMODEL REVEAL

Ahhh, it’s finally reveal day for the Orange County remodel! When my clients reached out, they knew exactly what they wanted. With long distance in play, we reworked their entry stairway, powder bath, kitchen, dining, and great room and gave them the sophisticated modern farmhouse they dreamed of! Scroll down to see the before and after transformations!

I’m also honored to say this was just awarded Best Residential Kitchen at this year’s ASID ANDYZ Awards 2022!

KITCHEN

Their dated kitchen was in need of major overhaul to bring it from their current dark aesthetic and turn it into the gorgeous modern farmhouse they dreamed of. Although the kitchen was spacious, they were also looking to reconfigure it in order to upgrade and include additional appliances along with a large prep space and eating island, a roomy walk-in pantry, and a wet bar. With visions of crisp black and white, we complemented it with a wall of beautiful light wood to bring in an organic element and sophisticated detail. Accents of beautiful brushed brass, natural textures, and wide shiplap made this stunning kitchen came to life as the perfect entertaining space for their family and friends.

The entire kitchen was demolished for a clean slate and we reconfigured the left wall to make it more functional for them. It now includes a four-foot-wide refrigerator, double wall ovens and a beautiful cabinet to the right with doors and drawers for the pantry. And when I say, for the pantry, I mean that whole cabinet is actually a door that opens into the walk-in pantry! The hidden pantry is such a fun (and functional!) feature in their kitchen and they love having guests try to guess where their pantry is. It hosts another small fridge, their water filtration system for the wet bar and fridge, and plenty of space for food and drink storage.

With a love of high contrast, we kept the uppers white while contrasting with black below and mixing in light wood tones throughout. The floating shelves on either side of the 48โ€ cooktop keep the space open and airy while highlighting the gorgeous black hood. The brushed brass hardware complements both the uppers and lowers, and the metal mesh detail in the glass upper cabinets adds a subtle sophistication. We did a wide shiplap backsplash that paired beautifully with the quartz marble counters and used black and mixed metal plumbing. The island is completely custom for their space and includes the large prep area and eating area that they wanted. It separates the two areas perfectly and is accented by a gorgeous, 48โ€ brushed brass and abaca chandelier as well as rattan counter stools. We loved that it felt like theyโ€™d be eating at a large table instead of a long, linear bar so it was easier to talk to each other. There are custom cabinets throughout, specifically a lift for the Kitchen Aid mixer with details of baking measurements and conversion charts, and a paper towel drawer next to the sink.

ENTRY

We moved the entire staircase and redesigned the wall leading upstairs to the loft, but wanted to utilize the space under the stairs as best as possible. We all love the way it turned out! It’s functional and beautiful and the paneling is gorgeous!

GREAT ROOM

We redesigned the entire fireplace wall and went from dark and dated to open and airy! The kitchen and great room open up to each other, so we let the contrast flow into here as well and added beautiful warm tones and organic woods. The white walls are beautifully contrasted with the dark fireplace, warm woods and leather, and mixed furniture.
