San Diego Mission Beach Makeover

Last weekend, or maybe the weekend before, I headed down to visit one of my besties in San Diego. She and her fiance just finished building their house in Mission Beach– it’s literally less than a 2-minute walk to the beach OR the bay! Such a dream. Anyway, they had torn down their existing bungalow a rebuilt a three story modern perch with a rooftop deck and all. But the coolest part is that the entire first floor is completely separate and comes with its own entrance and key when you RENT IT OUT! Yes, you can finally book their adorable, fresh and modern little studio for your own vacays!

Besides its own private entrance, there’s a living room with a sleeper sofa, kitchen, media center with wifi, bedroom with a queen bed and a full bath with an awesome shower!

They did an amazing job on the hard surface items, but wanted a little help with a quick and easy makeover. My flight landed at 10am and we immediately hit the stores and grabbed accessories, rugs, plants, pillows and paint– basically giving her my Easy Spring Refresh Ideas in a matter of hours, but using a lot of their existing furniture too. And what’s a makeover without a crazy deadline?! Like an 11am deadline the next morning for their property management photoshoot! But we knocked it out in a few hours and were wrapped up by our late dinner time– because I was also sleeping there that night!

And let me tell you– it’s amazing to have your own little home away from home complete with amenities a few steps away from the ocean. I’ve already got my next trip booked!
