Yesss! Adventure Awaits! In more ways than one, we know! Having a baby is already an adventure (hello to the new world of “let’s try and see if this works– oh…no, it didn’t… what about this?”), but I’m most excited for all of the adventures we’ll have together as he grows up. And I love adventures of all kinds, so this was the perfect theme for my baby shower. Last weekend, my mom and close friends hosted my shower and it was seriously better than I could have imagined! It was filled with so much thoughtfulness and love for Jackson and I and we were so grateful! They put together such a wonderful day and combined two of my favorites things into a tropical, travel-filled afternoon. There were globes, luggage trunks, palm leaves and a jumbo stuffed giraffe– everything to get his sense of exploration going!
We had a taco and margarita bar complete with all the toppings and a ridiculous amounts of sweets thanks to my uber-talented mom! She made the most amazing world map and trunk cake along with cake pops and cookies. The bottom cake was vanilla and chocolate marble with raspberry filling and the top cake was blue velvet with cream cheese frosting and they were so good! She made vanilla and blue velvet cake pops and adorable trunk and palm leaf cookies! (You can find more of her delicious creations @Sweet.Celebrations!)
There was a large globe for everyone to sign and the cutest Bellini’s for them to take home. There were onesies and bibs to decorate and more diapers than I could count– thank goodness! I had friends fly in to share the day with me and I know that Jackson already has so many Aunties to spoil and love him! A major thank you to everyone who made this such a special day!
